KUALA LUMPUR: The Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) branch has arrested a company manager and five uniformed officers for suspected involvement in false claims and corruption involving the supply of weapons amounting to more than RM550,000.

According to sources, all male suspects aged between 30 and 40 are believed to have been arrested at about 10pm yesterday at the Kuala Lumpur MACC office.

"They are suspected of submitting false claims last year for supplies that were never delivered," the source said.

A remand order for seven days starting today until Aug 2 was issued by Magistrate Wong Chai Sia against five suspects after the MACC submitted a remand application at the Kuala Lumpur magistrate's court this morning while another suspect was released on bail due to health problems.

Kuala Lumpur MACC Director Mohamad Fauzi Husin, when contacted, confirmed the arrests and said the investigation was conducted under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009.
